There is this mystical party island in the South of Thailand where the biggest beach parties in the world occur, called Koh Phangan. You have to take a 2 hour ferry to get there BTW. The biggest party is called the Full Moon party where theres a massive beach rave of 10K party goers. They have the half moon party in the jungle w/ neon glowing body painted shroomed out people dance all night. Then they have the more chill black moon party on the beach. These are videos from the Black Moon party I went to in Feb. 2011. I stayed at a place called coconut beach on the other side of the island, try to stay at place closer to the party. Also do not accept free drinks from local Thai people, b/c they put drugs in it, then they steal your wallet, it's happened to some people I met on the islands. I also took a bus from Phuket to Suratthani to get here via a travel operator, do not do this b/c during this 8 hr bus ride, your bags (this happened to me) get looked through and valuables also get stolen (luckily nothing got stolen from me). Book a bus from a non-travel tour operator.
